A bus belonging to City Hoppa company has caught fire while reportedly ferrying Azimio La Umoja supporters back to Nairobi from Murang’a County.
According to reports, the incidence occured at Kenol and is said to have been hired by Raila’s camp to ferry supporters from Lang’ata and Kibera to Ihura Stadium where team held a mega rally.
From the images shared, a fire engine is seen in action while the passengers donned in Azimio t-shirts are seen watching outside the bus.
While the ODM leader camped in Murang’a, his main competitor Deputy President William Ruto camped in Kirinyaga County where he was hosted by governor Anne Waiguru at Thiba North grounds after the State allegedly denied them access to Wang’uru stadium.
Ruto’s allies have been accusing Raila’s camp of hiring buses, especially school buses, to ferry supporters to their different rallies particularly in Mt Kenya in order to fill the stadiums.
Raila’s camp on their side have been accusing Ruto’s camp of bribing people to attend their rallies and using camera tricks to amplify the crowd.
