day after Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka withdrew his presidential candidature in favour of Raila Odinga, during a political development that was unveiled on Saturday at KICC and Jacaranda Grounds, he now claims that Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has been the stumbling block.
As quoted by the Sunday Nation, Kalonzo who was speaking in Kitui claimed that Ngilu wanted Wiper to ditch OKA and join Azimio as a party, and he urged Raila not to sign the Azimio-OKA alliance in a number of times during their closed door meetings.
On why Azimio NDC was delayed yesterday, Kalonzo stated that everything was good but Ngilu had prevented Raila for pending his signature.
Our negotiations with Azimio took long because of Governor Charity Ngilu who had accompanied Raila Odinga to the negotiations table. Ngilu did not want anything to do with the Azimio-OKA coalition. She kept telling Raila not to sign into the deal.
The truth of the matter is that Raila had refused to sign as he was being prevented from signing by Ngilu. They didn’t want Kalonzo to benefit from anything. That is the truth,” said Kalonzo.
He urged Ngilu to brace for a tough race in Kitui stating that the Wiper party is planning how it will sweep all the positions in August polls.
