Former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga has slammed Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi over his latest remarks on Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga.
While in Busia for Kenya Kwanza alliance tours, the former vice president stated that they are tired of supporting the former prime minister and challenged him to retire from politics.
“Tumechoka, Tunamwambia Raila Aondoe Jam Watu Wengine Warned Mbele”
The Kenya Kwanza alliance principal stated which loosely translates to, “We are tired. We are telling Raila to get out of the way so that other people can move forward.”
However while reacting to Mudavadi’s remarks, the former chief justice stated that it is unconstitutional to ask someone to retire from active politics as there is no clause that provides for retirement age.
“A very unconstitutional request to make. Suppose someone asked you retire from politics? Which article of the Constitution are you relying on?” The former chief justice questioned.
