The fight against Alshabaab militants by the Kenyan government is far from over after the insurgents invaded a Chinese construction company and burned vehicles belonging to the entity.
In a tweet shared by Citizen TV on Sunday, January 23, the militants invaded the Omolo-Bodhei area that is located on the Lamu-Garissa highway and committed the heinous act.
No casualty has been reported from the morning attack.
“Eight LAPPSET road construction vehicles belonging to China Communications Construction Company set ablaze by suspected Alshabaab militants at Omolo-Bodhei area on the Lamu- Garissa highway,” the media house tweeted.
The attack comes a week after Kenyan Commandos ambushed and killed fifteen Alshabaab militants hiding in a camp in Boni forest in Kenya’s southeastern Garissa County.
The Somali-based terror group is believed to be the one causing terror in the region in the past with several locals reported butchered and others shot dead while at their homes.
