During his homecoming ceremony that was held at Kenyatta Stadium in Kitale town of Trans Nzoia county today on January 29th, the former Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya and his wife excited the mammoth crowd that had turned up for the ceremony with their public display of affection to each other and matching dress code.
The Natembeya couple that’s hoping to succeed the Khaembas in the County leadership turned up for the ceremony dressed in matching Ankara outfits that combined maroon, blue, purple and red colours to give them a stunning look.
As seen above, the wife had put on an ankara dress whose fabric was partly used for making of her husband’s maroon shirt and from it we could spot the blue and red colours of ‘Azimio La Umoja’ coalition and DAP-Kenya party to which Natembeya belongs.
Then in his introduction of his wife, Natembeya left the crowd in stitches by saying that “mimi sio kapera. Niko na bibi na yeye ndio huyu.”
Of course he failed to mention her name but she happily received the microphone to introduce herself to the public.Surprisingly, she also failed to mention her name and just started her brief address by greeting the big audience ahead of her before saying that “I’ve opened all the doors and gates in my home to you people of Trans Nzoia. I’ll take care of you all without any kind of discrimination.”
Then while side hugging her husband, she added that “I’m releasing my husband to you people with all my heart and in good faith.
I want him to come and serve you and will make sure that there’s peace in the house so that he may fulfill his aspirations and plans that he has for you.”
Below are some photos that captured that moment;
Anyway, her brief speech and affection gesture elicited excitement from the crowd and she finished by saying that “I love you so much and may God bless you.”
