This man by name Alvin Linus Chivondo who is A 21-year old man sentenced to one year in prison or ksh100,000 fine after he pleaded guilty for stealing cooking oil and other valuables from Naivas Supermarket.
Alvin Linus Chivondo was charged that on 10 April this year at Naivas Supermarket located along Moi Avenue stole 2 litres of cooking oil.
In addition, according to the prosecution, the 21-year-old man stole 5kgs of rice, Honey, Tea leaves and sugar all worth valued at Sh3,165.
ODM leader Raila Odinga has asked that Alvin Linus Chivondo be released unconditionally.
He says criminals are now getting a reprieve to campaign freely, while petty offenders are being jailed, and that the courts need get their priorities right, ‘for once, you can’t jail a man for trying to feed his family’.
Alvin was today sentenced to one year in prison or pay Sh100,000 fine for shoplifting from a Naivas supermarket. He is accused of stealing 5kgs of rice, 5 litres of cooking oil, 2kgs of sugar and other items valued Sh3,165.
