Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has assured One Kenya Alliance supporters that the coalition will be a third force in the presidential elections on the 9th of August this year.
In an interview with NTV on Monday, Mutula dismissed speculations that his party leader Kalonzo Musyoka would eventually join Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja, stating that there is a bold reason as to why they left Nasa.
The leaders Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula ditched Nasa last year citing mistrust and political deceit from their counterparts in ODM led by Raila.
Mutula said at the moment, one OKA’s presidential candidate is the Wiper party leader, arguing that Kalonzo and his team had agreed to have Mudavadi fly the alliance’s fly before he ditched the alliance for Deputy President William Ruto’s political divide.
“There is a narrative that the race is between Raila and Ruto, as OKA, we will give Kenyans an alternative. As the Wiper Vice chairman, our candidate is Kalonzo Musyoka. As the first founders in Nasa, there is a reason we moved out of Nasa,” he said.
Kalonzo remained in OKA with Kanu’s chairman Gideon Moi, and they have held meetings in the three Ukambani counties before going to Kirinyaga were they were hosted by Narc Kenya boss Martha Karua.
